| Marmun Pit Stop |
|
In 2004, DYHS adopted an initiative specifically targeted at men; the Marmun Pit Stop. Marmun (Noongar word for male) Pit Stop has gathered momentum over the past few years through outreach to the Indigenous male community in Perth. Marmun Pit Stop was developed to raise awareness amongst Indigenous men, of all ages about their own health and quality of life. Marmun Pit Stop is so-named due to its use of mechanical terminology and motor engine parts and functions. This ignites discussion with men about their health. Marmun Pit Stop uses features of a car to remind men that their own physical health warrants at least the same kind of attention we afford the family car. |
