Heart Health “For our people, By our people”

In June 2009, DYHS in conjunction with The Heart Foundation implemented the heart health program, “For our People, By our People”.

 

Marmun Pit Stop

In 2004, DYHS adopted an initiative specifically targeted at men; the Marmun Pit Stop.

 

Stolen Generation - Bringing them Home

The Stolen Generation program provides a comprehensive service to improve the social and emotional well-being of Aboriginal people in the Perth metropolitan region. 

 

Maternal and Child Health Program

This  program aims to improve health of women during and after pregnancy and also young children especially aged 0-5 years 

 

Home and Community Care Program

Derbarl Yerrigan's Home and Community Care (HACC) program aims to provide a comprehensive, coordinated and integrated culturally appropriate service to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander frail aged people and young people with a disability with in the Perth Metropolitan area.

 

Employment

Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Inc employs 120 permanent staff. Most of our staff (about 70%) are Aboriginal people. We are always interested in recruiting health professionals in the following areas.

  • Aboriginal Health Workers
  • Home and Community Care Workers (HACC program)
  • Registered Nurses
  • Doctors

Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service offer a friendly working environment and competitive salary packages. Casual Pool

In addition to the permanent staff, Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service has casual pools in the following areas.

  • Medical Receptionists
  • Administration
  • Residential Care Workers
  • Cleaners
  • Transport  Drivers
